STEPS TOWARD VISION:
Creative Breath: We offer free somatic healing circles for BBIPOC women to find belonging, share stories and practice embodied creativity within a container of diversity, equity and inclusion, feedback and collaboration.
Publishing Funds: We are raising funds to publish our literary works.
Outreach and Engagement: We cultivate partnerships with individuals and organizations aligned with our purpose of supporting women. We aim to establish our presence (via talks, community gatherings, online forums, publications, etc.) to increase access to our programs.
Expand Systems of Collaboration: In 2026, we'll add to our feedback, decision-making, and resource-sharing systems to increase member input and make Creative Breath more replicable.
Expand Community Membership: By 2027, we will launch additional programs to serve a wider community, including women who are:
Interested in social justice allyship
Experiencing chronic pain
Living with disabilities
Experiencing (or have experienced) unbelonging
Interested in bridging the economic gaps that exist in our current economic systems
Sample Programs: Social Theater, Whole-Body Creativity, Narrative Healing and Memoir Writing, Ancestral Healing, Dreamwork for Artists, Visioning and Preparing for Change, Embodied Communication, Somatics for Resilience and Pain Management, and Creativity for Collaborative Leadership.
Financial Sustainability: We aim to create and sustain multiple long-term funding channels - including publications, gift economics (with donors), and additional programs - in partnership with our fiscal sponsor.
Grow Creative Breath: By 2028, we will train additional paid facilitators from Creative Breath alumni, document replicable program structure, and expand online and on-land circles for women, with an emphasis on immigrants.
OUR SPACES ARE ROOTED IN VALUES:
CREATIVITY as in cultivating novel ways to explore our inner/outer worlds and expressing our findings through writing, visual arts, sound, movement, and role play
SOMATICS as in honoring our bodies as story keepers and healing guides while sharing our extensive training in embodiment methods from both the Global South and North
CONNECTION as in meeting ourselves, each other, and our natural world with compassion, empathy and willingness to be both vulnerable and to support collaboration through intentional communication, feedback, shared decision-making and resource-sharing
TRANSFORMATION AND SUSTAINABLE GROWTH as in the ongoing learning, healing and action that supports interdependence for the thriving of female bodies, while bridging the gap between those with less access to resources and those who have more
